The non-surgical procedures, including Botox, JUVÉDERM, Restylane, Perlane and
Radiesse, provide a minimally invasive way to achieve instant result with very little down
time. The procedures are performed in the office setting.
Which product effects which areas?
corners of the mouth. It is uncommon to bruise after the procedure, however, Dr.
Baroody recommends avoiding ibuprofen and aspirin, if possible, 10 days prior to your
Botox injections. If you take aspirin for a medical condition, check with your doctor
before stopping the medication.
Dr. Baroody will recommend the best product to use depending on your individual
needs. Even though Dr. Baroody uses various approaches to minimize bruising such
as a topical agent and ice during/after the procedure you may bruise for 2-7 days.
Typically make-up may cover the bruising as it resolves. Avoid ibuprofen and aspirin if
possible 10 days prior. If you take aspirin for a medical condition, check with your
doctor before stopping the medication.
What makes Dr. Baroody different from other physicians injecting Botox
or Juvederm XC?
There are various types of physicians administering Botox, Juvederm, Restylane and
Radiesse. The difference with having your injections performed by Dr. Baroody, a
board-certified plastic surgeon, is many fold:
- Dr. Baroody will medically evaluate you for pre-existing conditions that may be a
contraindication for the procedures.
- Dr. Baroody is a cosmetic surgeon with an appreciation for proportions and
knowledge of the anatomy. This allows him to precisely inject the products
thereby avoiding injection errors. He avoids complications and individually
adjusts the procedures to address asymmetries you may have, giving you a
superior result.
- Most importantly, there will be a time when Botox and Juvederm injections will not
be the best choice for you; rather a surgical procedure will better provide ideal,
long-lasting, effective results. Only a plastic surgeon will present all available
options so you are able to make decisions that are best for you.
Botox - Botox relaxes muscles of the face
which in turn reduce or eliminate the severity
of the overlying skin wrinkles. Botox does
nothing to the actual skin, but by decreasing
the activity of the muscle, the skin becomes
smooth. Dr. Baroody is highly-skilled in
advanced Botox injection techniques. Areas
that may improve with Botox injections
include wrinkles between the eyes,
forehead, crow's feet (next to the eye),
upper nose ("bunny lines"), lips, and the
Botox
Dermal Fillers (Juvederm XC, Radiesse,
Restylane) - These fillers work by filling
wrinkles directly. The areas that may
improve with injectable fillers include the
cheeks, creases from the nose to the
corners of the mouth ("laugh lines"), lines
running from the corners of the mouth and
to better define the jaw line. Certain fillers
may also be injected into the lips to either
augment and/or better define the lips.
